Prof. Kurt Weidemann

Kurt Weidemann, born in 1922, completed an apprenticeship as a typesetter in Lübeck after a decade of war andcaptivity (in Russia). He then studied at the State Academyof Art and Design in Stuttgart before he became editor-in-chief of “Druckspiegel” for ten years. Beside his extensive work as a lecturer in Stuttgart, Karlsruhe and Koblenz, thedesigner, typographer and copywriter works as a consultant and designer for large enterprises. He created the corporate identity for Daimler-Benz as well as Coop, Merck, Zeissand Deutsche Bahn AG among others. In 1995 he received the Lucky Strike Designer Award, Europe’s most prestigiousdesign prize, and the Order of Merit (First Class) of theFederal Republic of Germany.
